19th - 23rd March 2012

I really enjoyed being an assistant sports coach for a week as I really enjoyed myself. We were always doing an activity and I was always able to get involved with the sporting activities that we done. The coaches were really nice and always made me laugh. I enjoyed working with the kids at the after school clubs and always got involved with the activities that they done, giving me a chance to give them tips and pointers, formatting them and instructing the drills. I think this was a really good placement and I enjoyed every minute of it, (well, almost every minute of it!)

A very positive work experience week by Sam. As well as responding well to instructions Sam was also pro-active and constantly found ways of dealing with situations, some of which were a little difficult for a new person to grasp immediately. All-in-all, a very productive placement. Well done.

Jordan
Jordan Maginley

30th April - 4th May

After being part of the Parkgate after-school club in primary school years 3 and 4 …it was good to see Sav again. I thoroughly enjoyed my time with Skill 7 and hope to return to coach for them one day. All the coaches made me feel welcome and the banter was quality! Best placement I could have selected!!

Jordan Maginley
(Parmiters School)

Jordan was a ray of sunshine from day one. He took to coaching like a duck to water and looked very comfortable in his ‘new role.’ A most welcome student who would be more than welcome back as a full or part-time coach in the future.

Thank you for the opportunity and the experience I gained when working at Skill 7. I really enjoyed my time at Skill 7. This week has given me experience of how the job of a sports coach works. I enjoyed each day of my work experience and I particularly enjoyed the staff as they were always very friendly and willing to help me. I appreciated the help Sav and Robbie gave me. Sav and Robbie always explained what I had to do. Work experience at Skill 7 has given me an insight into work in the future. Again I would like to thank the staff and the time taken to look after me. I would be interested in a job in the future, working for a great company.

Charlie worked supremely well throughout the week and gained in confidence as the week progressed. A brilliant work experience student who would be most welcome to return in a coaching role once he completes his studies.

Francerri
Francerri Penus

26th – 30th March

My week at Skill 7 was fun, we all managed to get a lot of things done and I also helped out Sav and Robbie with sorting out all the equipment. I enjoyed coaching football in the primary schools with Robbie, Sav and Kosta.
I would tell Robbie, Sav, Eddie and Kosta jokes and they would laugh because I’m so funny with my chat up lines, but my week with the coaches was a good run because it made me think that I could be a coach one day.
At my week I cleared the office, the garden and the coaches shed with Kosta and the other coaches, but I had fun doing it all! I hope I could do this again because I might even be a better coach than Sav! J

What can I say about Francerri?!? Probably the funniest work experience student we’ve ever had the pleasure of having at Skill 7! All week he would make wise-cracks but at the same time he’d realise when he had to be serious …especially when working with the children. Francerri’s infectious personality allowed Kosta to relax and enjoy his week too. The coaches continuously ask whether Francerri will be taking on a role of ‘coaching assistant’ at Skill 7? From his showing during his work experience week …he’ll be more than a welcome addition to the team.

Kostadin
Kostadin Karapetkov

26th - 30th March

My week at Skill 7 was great. On my first day we went to Stevenage, Fairlands school where we did coaching for 10-11 year old during school, and 5-11 year olds at an after school session. I helped with sorting out equipment, and setting up the goals. On my second day we coached kids at a primary school, where we set up equipment and helped by participating in some of the games. I learn how a training session needs to be set up and explained to the kids. I managed to improve on my communication skills and learn how to do things quicker. On my third day Sav made me and Francerri hand out leaflets before the training session to all the parents that passed the gates. I really enjoyed my third day because I learned how to do different things, and manage different tasks. Day 4 was interesting because I got to do some new stuff like pumping up footballs, while Francerri was mopping the house. I did coaching at two different schools where I got to set up different games, goals and helped with the warm-up.

Kostadin Karapetkov
(Bushey Academy)

Kostadin started the week off a little apprehensively but grew in confidence as the week progressed. He worked very hard to include himself in the ‘coaches banter’ and seemed like he enjoyed his inclusion in a grown-up environment. Whether or not Kostadin decides that he has a future in the sports industry …he will always be welcome down at Skill 7.
